The Doctors
Nigel Fraser, GP Partner

Nigel Fraser graduated BSc (Hons) MB ChB University of Manchester in 1988. He served in the army in England, Germany, Northern Ireland and Kenya. He is now in the Territorial Army. After GP training in Scarborough he was involved in Christian missionary work in Eastern Europe and the Far East. Qualifications include the MRCGP, Diploma of Child Health and diploma of Immediate Medical Care (Emergency Medicine).  In the past he was the primary care cancer lead GP for Scarborough, Whitby & Ryedale.  He has been involved in training new GPs since 2004 and is an examiner for the Royal College of General Practitioners.  From a personal educational level, he is studying for a Masters in Medical Science degree at the University of Leeds in his own time.

Andrew Davidson, Salaried GP

Andrew Davidson qualified in Birmingham as MB ChB in 1985.  His other qualification is DRCOG (1989). Dr Davidson undertook GP training in Scarborough and was a partner in a local practice from 1990 to 2004 leaving to pursue opportunities in teaching.  He is a tutor of 1st and 2nd year students at HYMS in York and also works for the PCT as a QOF assessor and GP appraiser.  His interests in medicine are diabetes, minor surgery & sports medicine.  His interests outside medicine are sport, mainly football, and travel.  He joined the Practice in November 2004 as a Salaried GP working three sessions a week.


Preethy Prathap, Salaried GP

Preethy Prathap graduated MB BS from University of Kesala, India in 1997 and did post-graduate training in Dermatology after that. (MD Dermatology India 2001).  She worked in Scarborough Hospital and completed GP training in Scarborough in July 2007.

Training Status

The Practice achieved GP Training status in February 2005. Dr Nigel Fraser is our GP Trainer and the Practice will be receiving a new GP Trainee (Registrar) every 6 months (February and August). GP Registrars are fully trained Doctors who are training to be General Practitioners.
